Welcome to Arizona College Prep Oakland! I have been teaching and coaching here since 2011 and I am thrilled to be a part of such a successful school, district, and community. This year I am grateful to be teaching Spanish 1 and Yoga and Fitness. Students in my classes can expect to work hard and learn a lot about the world around them. My objective is for students to experience success as a result of their efforts.
I graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in Spanish in 1993. While attending U of A I was a four-year scholarship athlete on the volleyball team. Three years after my undergraduate degree, I earned my master's degree in Teaching and Teacher Education from U of A. My teaching career began in 1993 in Tucson where I taught Spanish and Language Arts in the Tucson Unified School District. Since then I have taught English, Spanish, and ESL to students ranging from toddlers to grandparents.
My husband Ed and I were married in 1994 and we are blessed with two children, Kennedy and Luke, both former ACP Knights. Luke attends the University of Oregon and Kennedy is a Wildcat at U of A. Our family has lived in Chandler since 2003 and we love our community. I look forward to working with my students and their parents and encourage open communication among us. I am eager to be a part of the tremendous growth the students will experience here at Arizona College Preparatory. Every day we will strive for the impossible and be extraordinary!
