I am very excited to be joining the ACP Middle School team this year as a math teacher. I have always had a passion for teaching math and I look forward to getting to spend my days sharing that passion with students.

    My Education and Professional Background

I was a helicopter mechanic for the U.S. Army '91-'97. I Graduated from Illinois State University after completing my student teaching in Eastbourne, England. I taught 5th grade in Kyrene for 3 years before moving to Chandler where I taught 5th grade for an additional 17 years at Jacobson.  I then taught at Bogle Junior High for 5 years where I really developed my love for teaching math.  I have a Masters' in Curriculum and Instruction and a Masters' in Educational Leadership, both from NAU.

    My Educational Philosophy

I know that everyone can be good at math. It often takes hard work on everyone's part but number sense, calculation abilities, and problem solving are skills that all students will need in their futures. It is my job to encourage students and find the right instructional strategies that will make them successful. With the right motivation and help from school and home I know that your children will be successful!
