    Welcome!

My name is Kim Codd. I am one of ACP's 6th grade ELA teachers. I love helping students to love reading, to communicate well, and to build problem solving skills. My objective for each year is to provide a strong ELA background that will empower students to do well in anything that they choose.

    My Education and Professional Background

This is my 11th year teaching at ACP Middle School and my 15th year of teaching. Before coming to ACP, I taught 5th grade for one year in Oklahoma City after getting my degree in Elementary Education from Southern Nazarene University.  While I was getting my master's degree in Curriculum Design at University of Central Missouri, I was an instructional technologist at a Pre-K - 8th grade school in Kansas City.

    My Educational Philosophy

I am a firm believer that you learn best when you make goals for yourselves, inquire about how authors are communicating in our literature, give feedback to others, and receive feedback.

I will guide you through this process this year. Know that if you can learn how to take control of your learning, you can master any learning that you want to do! Every student is a scholar in my class.
