    EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
I studied double bass w/ John Dewitt (Mannes) and John Geggie (Crane School of Music).  I earned a B.M. in music education from Crane, and an M.Ed. in educational leadership from G.C.U.

    PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
I began teaching orchestra in Syracuse, NY within the Liverpool School District.  I moved to Arizona in 2005 and taught for the Deer Valley School District for several years.  Since 2009, I have been teaching orchestra for the Chandler Unified School District.  I have been teaching for A.C.P. since 2010.

    EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Learning music means learning how to set goals, take responsibility for ourselves, meet deadlines, and collaborate in a positive way with a variety of different people. Teamwork is a very important part of what I teach in an orchestra class. As students excel at their instruments, they gain skills and techniques.  But they also learn that to achieve in life takes work and dedication.  At the core of it all, I hope they learn that work can be fun, and that achieving goals is rewarding.
