San Marcos Elementary to add Kids Express in January 2023

COMMUNITY EDUCATION NEWS — The Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) will add Kids Express to San Marcos Elementary School in January 2023. The first day of the program will start with CUSD’s second semester, January 10, 2023.

Kids Express is CUSD’s K-6^th before and afterschool childcare option for CUSD families and staff. Kids Express goes from 6:30a.m. to the start of the school day and from the end of the school day to 6:00p.m. Run by the CUSD Community Education department, Kids Express is structured to provide students with opportunities for enrichment that extend beyond the regular school day. More than just a childcare program, Kids Express is designed to seamlessly integrate CUSD’s school day programming into before and after school activities to help students continue to grow outside of school, both academically and personally.  

At Kids Express, students are offered a variety of fun and educational activities. Kids will participate in construction, creative play, art, active play, science, homework help, dramatic play, board games, active play, crafts, sports, puzzles, and more!

San Marcos Kids Express will take place in the San Marcos Elementary School MPR. Hours will be 6:30a.m.-8:10a.m. and 2:40p.m.-6p.m. This program accepts DES scholarships.

With the addition of Kids Express to the San Marcos Elementary School campus, Kids Express will now be on campus at 26 out of CUSD’s 32 in-person elementary sites, with bussing options available for many of the campuses who do not offer Kids Express.
