• 2023-2024 First Things First Quality First Preschool/Pre-K scholarships to open Tuesday

    COMMUNITY EDUCATION NEWS —  2023-2024 First Things First Quality First scholarship applications for the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) will open Tuesday, June 13 at 9a.m. via a Google Form on our Preschool/Pre-K Scholarships page. Scholarship applications are available to preschool and pre-k aged children whose families meet the income requirements at the following schools: Conley Elementary, Hancock Elementary, Haley Elementary, Santan Elementary, Shumway Elementary, and Riggs Elementary. Students accepted will be able to attend preschool or pre-k free of tuition costs.


    Applicants will need to gather and complete the following documents to be submitted online through a Google Form: 
    •    First Things First Scholarship Application (English)/ First Things First Scholarship Application (Español)
    •    Proof of income: 1040 Tax return (page 1) with copies of 1 month salary for each parent in the household OR full DES approval letter (every page of approval letter) OR completed no income declaration form (English)/completed no income declaration form (Español)
    •    Child’s birth certificate
    •    Proof of address (utility bill) 


    Scholarships are limited and fill quickly. Applicants are encouraged to fill out their application and gather their supporting documents now so they will be ready to submit the application in its entirety through the Google Form on Tuesday at 9a.m. The Google Form is currently inactive and will not go live until Tuesday, June 13 at 9a.m. on our Preschool/Pre-K Scholarships page. All applicants must submit a new application for 2023-2024 to be considered. 


    Laptops will be available from 9a.m.-12p.m. on Tuesday, June 13 for applicants to use at the Community Education office at 1525 W. Frye Road Chandler, AZ 85224.


    Applications will be time-stamped and reviewed in the order of submission. In the case an application is incomplete, applicants will be contacted and given 48 hours to gather the remaining supporting documents and finalize their application. If they do not meet the deadline, we will move on to our next applicant. 


    CUSD Community Education also accepts Department of Economic Security (DES) scholarships for our preschool and pre-k programs on all CUSD campuses. We encourage you to apply for a DES scholarship here.
