The gifted curriculum encourages students to apply critical thinking skills and to become self-directed learners. It incorporates the regular Language, Math, and Reading materials, but on an advanced level. Students work a year or more ahead of their grade level. Social Studies and Science are taught on grade level, however the lessons differ in the process, product, and pacing.
Multi-age classrooms follow the curriculum designated for each grade-level.
Gifted students are tested at the grade level at which they are taught.
The gifted program is designed to challenge gifted learners through special hands-on, in-depth curriculum using a differentiated teaching approach involving both enrichment and acceleration.
The textbooks are the district adopted textbooks used in all Chandler classrooms, as well as engaging resources each individually teacher might own.
