    Chalene Baxter

    Chalene has been with the Chandler district since 1995. She earned her bachelor and master's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from NAU. Chalene has taken her passion for literacy to the next level to become a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy. She is a Wilson trainer for all the programs. Prior to joining the IRC, Chalene taught grades 1st - 4th in the general education classroom and K-6 in the resource setting.

    Shaun Creighton

    Shaun graduated summa cum laude from Northern Arizona University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Music Education and a minor in mathematics education. He received his Masters of Education in Educational Technology from Arizona State University in August of 2002. Shaun has spent his entire career in Chandler USD, teaching choral music at Bogle JHS for 6 years and computer applications courses at Santan JHS for 13 years before joining the IRC as an Instructional Technology Specialist in 2015.

    Heath graduated from Purdue University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in reading intervention. He received his Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University in 2007. Heath has spent his entire career in the Chandler Unified School District. He taught 2nd, 4th and 5th grades for 17 years before joining the IRC as an Academic Coach in 2019, focusing on K-6 Social Studies.

    Shannon Gilbert

    Shannon received her bachelor's in elementary and special education, as well as her master's degree in elementary education from NAU. Prior to joining the IRC, Shannon has taught special education for 20 years and has been in Chandler for 14 years. Shannon is a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner.

    Leslie Hicks

    Leslie is a graduate of Arizona State University. She has Master's Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University and Physical Education from Arizona State University. Leslie is the Past President of the Arizona Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Prior to joining the IRC, Leslie taught kindergarten through sixth grade physical education.

    Kathy received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and her Master's degree in Elementary and Technology from University of Phoenix. She has experience working with kindergarten and first grade students , traditional academies, second language learners, and Title 1 populations since 1999. She has been with Chandler Unified School District since 2006.

    Elisa Magee

    Elisa is a graduate of Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas. She received her Master's Degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She also received an Educational Technology Certificate from Arizona State University. Current areas of focus include: DIBELS Next/Amplify, Elementary Science, Defined Stem, Science and Social Science Integration for K-6, the Chandler Innovation Fair, and professional development in the area of STEM, Picture Perfect Science, and DIBELS Next.

    Cristen Marceau

    Cristen received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University and her Master's of Education in educational technology from Arizona State University. She was a classroom teacher for 9 years, working as a 4th grade teacher and a multi-age self-contained gifted teacher. She then left the classroom to work as a media specialist for 8 years. She joined the IRC in 2015 as an academic coach for instructional technology. Cristen has endorsements in library/media and gifted education.

    Amy is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. She received her Master's Degree from Northern Arizona University in Curriculum and Instruction. Amy began her teaching career in 2001 and has taught at Bogle Junior High, ACP Oakland, and ACP Erie. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics.

    Katie Moe

    Katie Moe is the K-12 STEM Academic Coach. Before joining the CUSD IRC team she spent 10 years in the elementary classroom and 2 years as the K-12 Science Coordinator in Gilbert. She works with teachers and site leadership on increasing STEM opportunities and building upon STEM culture. She also works alongside the science curriculum team to strategically implement authentic science and STEM experiences into the classroom. Professional development, visioning, and community partnerships are all within the scope of her work. Katie has an intentional focus on strong community partnerships. This focus helps to highlight the STEM/Science pathways throughout the K-12 system and into college and future careers. Some of her current projects include: Chandler Innovation Fair, Elementary STEM Labs, Science and Social Science Integration, and CUSD STEM Community of Practice.

    Jena Phillips

    Jena holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in educational leadership from NAU. She started here in Chandler in 2005 opening the CTA Freedom campus, then moved to Bogle Junior High in 2012 as a gifted science teacher. Jena has spent more than 20 years in the classroom teaching students in grades K-8, and has experience working with the gifted, traditional, ESL, and with Title 1 populations. In 2017, she served as an Ambassador of Excellence through the Arizona Education Foundation's Teacher of the Year Program.

    Brian holds bachelor's degrees in Zoology and Secondary Education and master's degrees in Political Science and Educational Leadership. He began teaching in 2005 with Hilliard City School, in Hilliard Ohio. Brian has been with CUSD since 2010. His experiences include student services, secondary science, administration, athletics, and curriculum.

    Philip Robertson

    Philip earned his Bachelor's Degree in History with an Education Certification from the University of Iowa. He holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in History from Arizona State University. Philip has held endorsements in American History, World History, Government, and ELA. Working with 7th-12th graders, he has taught students in Iowa, Nevada, and Hawaii. Since 2010, Philip has worked in both the Yuma and the downtown Phoenix area. Philip has also been a member of the National Council for History Education, the American Academy of Religion, the Arizona Geographic Alliance, the Arizona Council for Social Studies, and the Arizona Council for History Education.

    Sarah has worked for the Chandler Unified School District since 2009. An ASU graduate, she holds master's degrees in both Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership. Before coming to the IRC, she was an elementary school administrator and a secondary English teacher.

    Emily Squire

    Emily graduated summa cum laude from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Mathematics. She received her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Technology from Grand Canyon University while simultaneously earning her K-8 Reading Endorsement through Fitchburg University and becoming Wilson Certified. Before joining the IRC in 2016, Emily spent her entire teaching career in Chandler USD working with students in grades 3-6. She has coached teachers at the Primary through Secondary levels as well as provided professional development to teachers and administrators. Emily is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

    Steve Stoltenberg

    Steve graduated from ASU with his Bachelors in Education in 1994, and earned his Masters in 1995. He has been in the education system in Arizona for over 25 years. Steve started his teaching career at Pueblo Middle School in 1994 where he taught science and computers for 4 years before heading over to Kyrene Middle School, where he taught 8th grade math for 6 years. After that, Steve transferred to the Chandler District and taught at Santan Junior High for 8 years. He made the jump to high school and taught at Basha High for 4 years and then Casteel High for 3 more before taking the opportunity to become an Academic Coach.

    Tracy Tolstedt

    Tracy received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Arizona State University and her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. Since she began her career in 1990, Tracy has taught Kindersteps, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th grade at the elementary level before moving to junior high to teach Career Technology, Media Production and Computer Applications to 7th and 8th graders. She returned to the elementary level in 2005 to teach computer skills to elementary students and assumed the position of Media Specialist. Tracy has Library/Media and Early Childhood Endorsements. She joined the IRC Staff in 2017 as an Instructional Technology Coach.
