    Welcome!

    Welcome to the school year! I teach FACS which stands for Family and Consumer Science. We do a little bit of a lot in this class. We will be looking at colleges and careers, child development, finances, and cooking. I'm looking forward to another great year at Payne Jr. High.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in Marketing. I later returned to school for a Post Bac in Education and received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I have a Reading Endorsement as well. I taught 4 years of 5th grade and was a Reading Specialist for 6 more years at Knox Elementary. I then became a 4th grade teacher at Navarrete Elementary and did that for one year and then moved to 5th grade. Following that year, I came to Payne Junior High to teach FACS. I've been at Payne Junior High since 2013.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I firmly believe in respecting all students and in turn they will respect you. All students learn differently and that is what makes them each unique and special to me. I teach using a variety of techniques to hopefully reach every student and their different style of learning. I do hands on activities, group activities and individual activities. With a great teacher, students can and will perform to their potential!
