- Letter from our Principal

Dear Payne Panther Parents,
The start of the 2016-2017 school year has been a great success, due to the amazing students, staff and families here at Payne JHS. We are ready for our Fall Break – October 3rd – October 18th. Our family has about 1100 students this school year and Payne is a great place to be!
We are going to try something new at Payne JHS that I wanted to share with you all. When students return from break on Wednesday, October 19th, students will be allowed to have their phones out during their lunch. Please read and go over the information below with your child(ren), because the rules of phone usage will be strictly enforced.
Phones and headphones are to be put away upon the ringing of the first bell at 9:02 in the morning, They are not to be out in any building, except for the library and cafeteria during lunches and, at any time during the day unless a teacher specifically tells you to take your phones out to use as an instructional tool. When going to lunch, or going to the busses or parent pick up at dismissal, phones are not to be out until you are outside of the building. Phones and headphones that are out inside of the buildings will be confiscated and sent to the office. Parents will be required to pick the phones up from the office. Students will not be allowed to pick the phones up from the office at the end of the day.
We thank you as always for your cooperation with this new phone usage policy at Payne. Enjoy your break and take advantage of our cooler temperatures.
Fondly,Paul Bollard
