"Americans thinking that America will continue to lead the world in innovation and quality of life without some quick and serious educational improvements are dangerously delusional."

Welcome!

My name is Sam Alexander and I teach software development. I started teaching in 1993 in Peoria, Arizona. Before coming to Chandler I taught in downtown Phoenix at Carl Hayden. I have a wife who teaches early childhood education at Basha High School. We have 6 kids, 2 of which we adopted. There is never a dull moment in my household.

My Education and Professional Background

Bachelor of Science Degree - Biology - Fish and Wildlife Management - Northern Arizona University Post-Bach Secondary Teacher Certification - Ottawa University Associate of Science Degree - Cisco Networking (Including Java, Computer Maintenance, and Networking classes) - Chandler Gilbert Community College Chandler High School - 2005 to Present Computer Science Teacher CHS Robotics Coach

My Educational Philosophy

A successful education will stimulate a student to grow a desire as well as skills to learn independently. As so I see my role as more a facilitator providing resources and activities for students rather than a primary source of information. Students gain a much more long term education when engaging in real life application through experiences they obtain in career and technical education courses such as mine. In order to accomplish this I provide a safe and encouraging environment. In my classroom you are expected to treat others the way you would want to be treated. As a career and technical education class this culminates as employability skills.
