Hello! Welcome to my Mandarin Chinese Classroom. My name is Jiun Shaffer, however all my students call me ke lao shi. I enjoy teaching, travelling to different parts of the world, and spending time with my family. I really love being a teacher and I hope to not only teach but to also learn from my students as well. I am very excited and honored to be part of your child's journey of learning. I am so proud of all my students and their success in my class.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from NAU, Arizona in 2014. I have been teaching Chinese since 2007, and in 2012 I had the opportunity to start the Chinese program here at Basha High. It is such an honor to be part of the Basha Bear family!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that through a positive learning environment, students will become critical thinkers and life-long learners who in return make a positive impact on this world.
