Mrs. Mundt-Nichols was born and raised in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota (Spearfish). She graduated from Black Hills State University in May of 2006 with degrees of Special Education and Elementary Education. While attending college, Mrs. Mundt-Nichols worked at a facility called Northern Hills Training Center assisting intellectually disabled adults with independent lifestyle skills of cooking, cleaning, laundry and accessing the community! After graduating in 2006, Mrs. Mundt-Nichols moved to Arizona to begin her career!
Mrs. Mundt-Nichols married her high school friend and prom date in 2017! They have three sons, Dontae (10), Dahlton (2) and Dakotah (3 mos). As a family they cheer on the Dallas Cowboys, frequent the movie theaters, enjoy eating out, camping, fishing and swimming!
This is Mrs. Mundt-Nichols' 16th year teaching special education at Basha Elementary! She loves pink, black, pigs and is scared of moths (the kids laugh)! She has been working with special needs children since she was in 4th grade! While Mrs. Mundt-Nichols wanted to be a veterinarian growing up, her mother told her she should be a special education teacher due to her caring heart. Guess they are right when they say, "Mother's know best!"
She believes that her classroom truly is a family! Every year they discover new beginnings, new experiences and develop new bonds.
