How to direct your student in cybersecurity after high school - what are their options? (This page will be a work in progress. More information will be added over time)

     4 and 2 year Options

Arizona has many four and two year options for cybersecurity and its various branches. One of the first places to look would be the CAE listing (National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity).

"The mission of the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE) program is to create and manage a collaborative cybersecurity educational program with community colleges, colleges, and universities that

    • Establishes standards for cybersecurity curriculum and academic excellence,
    • Includes competency development among students and faculty,
    • Values community outreach and leadership in professional development,
    • Integrates cybersecurity practice within the institution across academic disciplines,
    • Actively engages in solutions to challenges facing cybersecurity education. " (NSA.gov website)

     Certification Option

The certification option might be for students who do not want to commit to continuing their education in a traditional manner, but would rather obtain the necessary skills and certifications to start working in the field quickly.
