About
McPherson...
Welcome! I have been teaching since 1998. I taught in the Tempe district for 5 years and then went to the Gilbert district for 14 years. I have taught Spanish, Sociology, and AVID. During my time in Gilbert I started the AP Psychology program at Desert Ridge High School and have been teaching AP and Psychology ever since. I am so excited to continue teaching AP Psychology and Psychology here at Perry!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelor's Degree and received a Master's from Ottawa University in Curriculum and Instruction. I briefly served as a group counselor in Phoenix and then decided I wanted to go into teaching.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe every student has the capability to be a phenomenal student in their own unique way. It is my job to inspire them in their journey to reach their goals. Each journey is different and each student deserves to be supported. Motivation is key to be successful and that aspires me to be that role model.
