SANTAN STORM SOFTBALL - 8TH GRADE GIRLS 

Hello! My name is Mykayla Harper and I will be coaching the girl's 8th grade team this year. I am very excited about this upcoming season and eager to get started! Please see below regarding softball tryouts.

WHEN: Tryouts will begin Wednesday, October 18th and run through Friday, October 20th, from 4:15 - 5:30 PM each day. Student - athletes should plan on being there all THREE days. Tryouts are closed to parents and friends.

WHERE: 8th Grade Softball Field - this field is the one closest to Chandler Heights behind the tennis courts. 

EQUIPMENT: Athletes will need to bring their softball equipment for tryouts - gloves, bats, cleats, and any positional equipment that your athlete uses on the field (face mask, catchers' gear, etc.). Equipment can be left against the locker room wall and will not be bothered (cameras are located in this area).

DRESS OUT: Athletes will need to dress out (softball pants, socks, shirt, etc) and be on the field by 4:10 ready to go with their cleats on. Those who arrive more than 10 minutes late on ANY day WILL NOT be allowed to tryout that day. Please make sure that your athletes does not wear a club or rec affliated uniform to tryouts. On day 1, athletes will be assigned numbers that will identify them throughout the tryout process. It is highly recommended that your athlete wears a plain white shirt in order for their numbers to be drawn on their shirts.   

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Athletes will need to make sure that they bring water with them EVERYDAY. Water will not be provided for athletes; therefore, please make sure your athlete comes with enough water. I will end tryouts each day right at 5:20 PM. Athletes will be required to help put equipment away at the end of each day. Please allow for the athletes to get their responsibilities done before leaving each day. The goal is to have the athletes out to you by 5:30, but it will depend on the movement of your athletes. Parents should be waiting in the bus loop or parking lot during this time. On the evening of the 20th, I will post the numbers of the players who've made the team on this page. I look forward to meeting you all soon and getting underway.
