Hancock...
Welcome to the Santan Band Website! This page will be updated with concert dates, handbook, practice logs and other band related documents. Please contact me if you have any questions at all.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University before teaching middle school music in Casa Grande for ten years. My duties in Casa Grande included conducting concert bands, percussion ensembles, choir, and an indoor marching percussion ensemble. In 2014 I received my Masters Degree in Instrumental Conducting from the American Band College at Sam Houston State University.
My Educational Philosophy
My educational philosophy comes from the quote "No significant learning can occur without a significant relationship." I firmly believe that each student must have a connection with their teacher and feel valued before they can produce work at their highest potential. My goal is to use the power of music as the vehicle to teach more than the notes on the page and instill values that will serve my students through their adult lives.
