Coaches Biographies
    Jeff Gurecki (Head Coach)
    Coach Gurecki has been part of the team since 2014 serving as the Boys Assistant (2014) and Head Girls Coach (2015-16). During this time both the PHS Girls and Boys XC Teams had the most success in program history, placing in the top 10 at the State Meet, earning multiple All State/Section/City Championships and awards, winning multiple age group races, 2015 & 2018 Chandler Invite Champions, runner up at the Titan Invite in 2016, 3rd place at the 2018 Desert Solstice meet. Coach Gurecki has great aspirations and expectations for the 2019 competitive season.
    On a personal level, Coach Gurecki was born and raised in Az. He attended Chandler High and excelled in wrestling, being part of the Az National Wrestling team. Coach Gurecki was able to travel the world and compete in many international events. As a high school senior he won the Berlin Open Greco Roman Wrestling Tournament in Germany and successfully defended the title the next year. Coach Gurecki brings his competitve spirit as an adult to the sport of triathlon. This includes podium finishes at local races and completing IMAZ in 2014.     Bryan Idleman (Head Coach)
    Coach Idleman has been the girls head coach at Perry since 2016 and the head girls track coach since 2018. Prior to coaching at Perry, he served as the boys head cross country coach at a local school from 2006-2014 & the girls head track coach from 2009-2015 helping to build two very successful programs. The Perry Girls Cross Country Team had their best finish ever last year placing 5th at state. He was named the Higley Coach of the Year in 2011 and is listed as one of Arizona’s All-Time Top Track Coaches by the Arizona Republic.
    Coach Idleman is originally from Illinois but grew up in Colorado where he ran cross country, wrestled and competed in track as a middle distance runner. As an athlete, he found that a close knit team will compete harder for each other leading to greater team success. As a coach, he strives to balance hard work with having fun to ensure that athletes continue to enjoy running & hard training. Coach Idleman believes that the mental and physical aspects of training are essential components in preparing for a demanding season.
