The 2019-2020 begins Ms. Heilner's 17th year of teaching junior high science. She has taught at Santan for the past 15 years and is proud to be a STORMER! She has her bachelors and masters degree from NAU. Go Lumberjacks!
Ms. Heilner has one amazing daughter who is in fifth grade. She also has two naughty doggies named Grady & Primrose. Peyton and the pups keep Ms. Heilner busy morning, noon, and night. Students are likely to hear various stories about them throughout the year. During summer break and intersessions, Ms. Heilner and Peyton can be found on early morning trips to the zoo, nature walks at the riparian preserve, and coffee dates at Starbucks! Ms. Heilner recently became engaged and will soon be the proud "extra mom" of three wonderful kiddos!
Ms. Heilner's goal for all students is to succeed in her classroom. In order to accomplish this, Ms. Heilner insists that students play an active role in their science education. Students who are willing to open their minds to science will gain the most knowledge. Ms. Heilner is available for tutoring on Monday mornings at 8:15am, or by appointment.
