Applying for AVID
Registration for the 2016-2017 school year is now underway. If you are interested for applying to take part in the AVID program, please download the following forms and follow the instructions.
7th Grade AVID
- Application Form (return with your 7th grade registration materials)
8th Grade AVID (for students who did not take AVID in 7th grade)
- Application Form (return with your 8th grade registration materials)
All AVID applications should be returned with your child's registration materials, but overall, all applications must be received no later than February 10, 2017. Once your application has been received, an interview will be scheduled at your child's school (returning AVID students will interview with their AVID teacher). After the AVID site team considers all applications, student interviews, and teacher recommendations, students will be notified by mail if they have been accepted into the AVID program by March 31.
Teacher recommendations are also an important part of the AVID application process. All teacher recommendations will be done online. If you are a teacher who needs to complete a recommendation for an AVID applicant, please complete this brief recommendation form online. All responses will remain strictly confidential. Please note that to ensure the integrity of the teacher recommendation process, you are required to be logged on to your staff SchoolWires account to access the online teacher recommendation form.
