About
Schildgen...
Welcome to Mrs. Schildgen's webpage! A little about me...I was born and raised in Iowa and moved to Arizona in 1995 with my husband, Rick. I love living in the southwest and enjoy doing anything outdoors... camping, hiking, running and playing volleyball with my family. I have 3 kids of whom I'm enormously proud!
My Education and Professional Background
I earned a Bachelor's degree at the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) in English and Secondary Education. I went on to pursue a career in Marketing, working for corporations such as McCulloch and Black & Decker. After 15 years in the corporate world, I decided to return to the field I love and earned a Master's degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from ASU. I have taught both as a Special Education teacher and as a classroom teacher and love working with young people!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that each child is a unique individual with their own special talents and gifts. I strive to provide a learning environment that is respectful, compassionate and allows all students to be successful. Students are encouraged to set goals, take risks, make mistakes, and share their ideas.
