    Welcome!

Hola y bienvenidos a mis clases de Español. I am Maestra Oelschlager and I am very happy to introduce students to the beautiful Spanish language.

    My Education and Professional Background

I grew up in Mexico and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's in Secondary History Education in 2013 and a Masters in English as a Second Language in 2015. I became a Spanish teacher in 2013 at Peoria Unified School District, where I taught 7th grade Social Studies in Spanish. I taught Spanish at Higley Unified School District in 2015 from the beginner level all the way up to Spanish 2 at Cooley Middle School and Williams Field High School. I am highly qualified to teach Spanish, Social Studies and History. I also hold a SEI and an ESL endorsement.

    My Educational Philosophy

I strongly believe in helping students see the possibilities of where languages will take them in their future. I am ready to share the knowledge that I have gained through learning three different languages. These experiences have shaped my teaching style and I completely understand what it is like to learn a whole new language from scratch. I am here to support students foreign language acquisition through the use of music, literature, writing, listening and active participation.
