About
Turner...
Welcome to Mrs. Turner's webpages! While I have some basic information about my classes listed here, details on all assignments, calendars, and due dates are posted in Google Classroom. Please contact me with any questions, celebrations, or concerns; it's going to be a great year!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona in 1991 with a Bachelor's in English and Secondary Education, then moved to Wisconsin where I taught 9th-12th grade literature and composition classes for eight years. In 1999, I completed my Master's degree in Education from Aurora University before moving back to Arizona and becoming part of the Hamilton team. Literature and world history are my passions, and I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to teach both through my English curriculum and through coaching and teaching Academic Decathlon.
My Educational Philosophy
Students learn best in a dynamic setting where they feel accepted and valued. I love teaching; I love the energy of a classroom where students are challenged to become strong writers, adept readers, and involved members of a learning community.
