Browning...
Welcome to Chandler High School! I look forward to working with you all. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
My Education and Professional Background
I served in the U.S. Army for 23 years before recently becoming a Social Studies teacher. My duties included (but were not limited to) providing humanitarian aid and physical security to Cuban and Haitian refugees in Central America, serving as an Infantry Company First Sergeant, as well as an embedded Combat Advisor to the Afghan National Army, and as an Assistant Professor of Military Science. I retired from the Army after serving as the regional recruiting director in Portland, OR. I used the G.I. Bill for my college education and graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in Communication; however, I did the majority of my coursework at Oregon State University and I root for the Beavers even though their football program has been breaking my heart recently. I finished my Master of Arts at George Fox University in Newberg, OR, and I am a relentless advocate of lifelong learning. It’s never too late to learn something new.
My Educational Philosophy
As Winston Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts”!
