    Welcome to my page! I am so excited to be your teacher this year at Chandler High School. this is my 2nd year at CHS, but I have been a CHS parent for a few years and loved the school so much that I decided that I wanted to work here.

    This year I am teaching English 10 and English 12 and look forward to guiding all of my students through their English course as well as supporting seniors in their last year of high school.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in history from Texas State University.   I started my teaching career in Odessa, Texas, where I attended high school, and taught different history courses for 8 years at the junior high and high school level.  I then moved to Colorado, where I taught high school social studies for 3 years. Before coming to Chandler High, I taught middle school and high school English at an online school for 10 years.  Prior to that, I was able to stay home with my children for several years until they started school in CUSD.  

    I enjoyed my experience of teaching online and learned so much in those years, but I really enjouyed returning to a brick and mortar school where I can see my students and colleagues in-person.  

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that every student can learn, but the learning happens in different ways for every child. It is my job to come up with ways to guide them to see their strengths so they can learn and have the opportunity to have more choices for their future.
