My Education and Professional Background
NAU graduate in 1988 with a B of A in Health Education and a Minor in Biology. Hired here at Chandler High in the Fall of 1989 as a driver's education instructor. Over the next 27 years I have taught Health and Physical education while coaching Cross Country, Pole Vault, Long Jump, the middle distance runners, golf and basketball for 20 of those years. I have also earned two Masters Degrees (Leadership and Physical Education).
My Educational Philosophy
The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education. Martin Luther King Jr In order to maximize our education system we need to be in partnership with parents and the community, to provide students with rigorous educational experiences to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
