We are proud to report that Chandler High 2018-19 graduates earned:
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Senior Nichelle Apodaca Rocha and sophomore Mark Damacion are Chandler High's spring semester Positive Referral drawing winners and the recipients of new Chromebooks. 255 students were recognized this semester for going above and beyond and exhibiting excellence in character, and their names were entered into a drawing for Chromebooks purchased with the money CHS earned through participation in the School Cents program.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Cienna Samiley, Chandler High junior, competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis against the top Level 10 gymnasts in the country and medaled on the Uneven Bars with a score of 9.675. Chandler High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Chandler High junior Casey Likes who won Best Vocalist and Best Male Lead for his role in Les Miserables. The last award makes Casey eligible for the National Jimmy Awards, so ASU Gammage is flying him to New York City June 16-25 where he will be representing Arizona and CHS at the national awards competition! Chandler High - (2018-2019) Will Kemper won the Chandler High School Alumni $1,000 Scholarship by submitting a terrific one-minute video explaining what being a Wolf means to him. He captured it beautifully! YouTube video: What it means to be a Chandler Wolf
Chandler High - (2018-2019) AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) sophomores completed a Spirit of Giving Project, a community service project designed to give students the opportunity to give back to their community. Students researched an organization where they could complete at least five hours of service. The project culminated in a reflection essay and poster that highlighted their experience.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Giselle Dominguez, a Chandler High senior, was a Finalist for the 2019 Congressional Art Show and will have her artwork hung in Congressman Greg Stanton's office until September.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Katherine Chou, a Chandler High junior, was a runner up for the 2019 Congressional Art Show, and her work will hang in Greg Stanton's office until the end of May.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Ninety-one Chandler High seniors have earned a Seal of Biliteracy on their diplomas and reflected on their transcripts. The seal was created to reward high school students who were proficient in English and at least one other language as evidenced by their performance on a state board approved assessment.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Solomon Liddell and Alan Valadez signed letters of intent to play soccer at Mesa Community College.

Chandler High - (2018-2019) Sydney Wiedeman signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Adams State University.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Nate Rohlicek and Brendy Bryan signed letters of intent to play baseball at Cochise College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Alexys Matcuk signed a letter of intent to swim at Southwest University (Texas).
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Sakina Buycks signed letters of intent to be part of the Aztec Diamonds Dance Team at San Diego State University.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Gracie Bonenberger signed a letter of intent to compete in Field and Track at Hastings College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Tanaeya Johnson signed a letter of intent to compete in Track and Field at Mesa Community College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Da'Jon Walker, Andrew Kirk, Demetrius Warren, Tim Boyd, Javan Ah Quin Jr., Kaipo Magsayo, Jacob Zevallos, and Jon Williams signed letters of intent to play football at the collegiate level.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Emily Kendall signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Pacific University Oregon.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Annika Lagos, Jaden Juarez, Saachi Poddar, Lila Patel, Yvette Mejia, and Trey Lewis have their work on display at Art Intersection in downtown Gilbert. This is a great honor, as there were over 900 entries and only 80 pieces were chosen to be included.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High celebrated the accomplishments of 25 AVID graduating seniors during the AVID Senior Celebration and banquet. The seniors, many of whom have been a part of the college-prep elective for four years, have all been accepted to four-year universities and have earned over $350,000 in scholarship offers.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Twenty Chandler High student-athletes participated in Chandler High's Spring NCAA College Signing Recognition Day and committed to play at the next level. That makes 41 signees this year.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High boys volleyball and Coach Bobby Robson won the state championship in a five-set thriller over Mountain View on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The victory is Chandler Volleyball's first state title in school history.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High's Native American Seniors were honored at a CUSD banquet on May 3, 2019.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) The Wolf Howl publication team attended a Journalism Education Association convention and participated in a Write-off Competition in Anaheim, California. Two Chandler High students were honored among 3,500 attendees from around the world with two impressive awards. Congratulations to Kailey Shupe for earning Excellent in Commentary Writing, and Selena Haggerty for earning Honorable Mention in Literary Magazine: Poetry.

Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Mikaila Williams is a multi-sport athlete, playing both beach and indoor volleyball. As a Distinguished Scholar and member of National Honor Society, she has maintained a 4.44 GPA throughout her high school career. Mikaila received a scholarship to continue her volleyball career at South Mountain Community College. Chandler High Seniors Highlights

- 2,889 hours of college credit (Dual Credit), and
- 24,440 hours of service learning
Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Cole Neff played on the Chandler High state champion football team for three years. His senior year, he chose to join the EVIT (East Valley Institute of Technology) program to study firefighting. On May 4, 2019 Cole graduated from the East Valley Regional Cadet Academy as a Fire and Rescue Cadet. He will attend EVIT next year to continue his firefighting career goal and then plans to join the service for firefighting. Chandler High Seniors Highlights
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to the Chandler High Girls and Boys Track Teams, 2019 Division I State Track and Field Champions! This is the fourth championship in a row and 13th out of the last 14 years for the girls. The boys are eight-time state champions, and have won State three out of the last four years. Kudos to all of the athletes who won their races and events, including QuaRon Adams for running the 9th fastest U.S. all-time 100 meters for a freshman at 10.49 seconds. His time is a top-five all-time in Arizona as well.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Kenneth Applegate, Chandler High junior, scored a perfect 36 on the ACT! To put Kenny's achievement in perspective, of the more than 2 million students who took the exam nationally last year, only 2,760 achieved a perfect score. Kenny has a 4.67 GPA, maintains straight A's in all of his classes (including four AP), and plays in the CHS Chamber Orchestra.

Chandler High - (2018-2019) The International Baccalaureate (IB) Boosters held a banquet last week to celebrate the accomplishments of the IB Diploma and Career Program candidates. This is the largest IB graduating class at CHS with 48 Diploma candidates and 18 Career Program candidates. The theme of the banquet was "The World Awaits" with a message to the students and parents to be proud of what they've accomplished and to keep striving to make a difference in the world.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler Wolves and Hamilton Huskies students worked together with CTA/EPA Humphrey sixth graders in a "Courage Retreat." Students learned to follow their hearts and not the crowd.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Alexander Moxley, Hailey Kooser, Kayla Plitz, Macy Canedy and Jacob Pescador who earned one gold medal (Level 4), one silver medal (Level 4), three bronze medals (Level 3) and two achievement certificates in the National German Exam (NGE Levels 3 and 4).

Chandler High - (2018-2019) Newly selected Link Leaders had their "Spring Training" day to prepare for the 2019-2020 school year. They participated in leadership discussions, played team-building games and started making plans to make next year's Freshman Orientation Day AMAZING!
Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Junior Arellano joined the Chandler High AVID team his sophomore year. Learning TRF (Tutorial Request Form), Cornell Notes and the processes of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) was a new experience that allowed him to see a better future for his life. His senior year he chose to join the EVIT (East Valley Institute of Technology) program to study aviation. Junior takes every opportunity at Chandler High to make his dreams soar. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Grace Bender is an International Baccalaureate full-diploma candidate at Chandler High School who epitomizes the core values of the IB program of striving for intellectual, physical and emotional balance. Grace took a semester away from Chandler High School to participate in an international exchange program to Argentina during her junior year. Through this experience she was able to bring to life in her classrooms abstract concepts such as cross-cultural understanding and global mindedness when she returned. She wrote her extended essay for her IB diploma in Spanish, a decision that has been empowering and inspirational to her peers and community. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Sunil Binstock has been an honors and AP student throughout high school. His academic achievements are among the top of our students at Chandler High. His care for others and passion to pursue opportunity are impressive. He is never hesitant to stand up for students or walk students that needed a little extra support down to the counselors. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Timothy Boyd is an incredible multiple-sport athlete. As a field goal kicker for Chandler High football he stood out as the player to kick the ball down the middle of the goal post. On the volleyball court, he was often at center stage volleying the ball with tremendous force. Whether field or court, Timothy spent hours at each sport. As a student athlete, he never took the easy road, pushing himself mentally and taking nothing less than 3 honors or AP classes each year. Timothy is a force of a young man. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Braxton Bradbeer is an outstanding scholar and athlete. He has been on the High Performance club volleyball team in Arizona for several years. On the Chandler High volleyball court Braxton was a true team player. He has been recognized for being a grounding force that allowed the team to shine. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Christiana Camba is an outstanding student, song writer, vocalist and athlete. She was awarded the Bronze Level Senior Award in the U.S. Figure Skating Graduating Senior Award. This award recognizes the hard work of student athletes who have participated in figure skating throughout high school. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Gabriella Cancellieri is an IB Diploma Program candidate and is in the top 1% of her class. She has excelled in academics and athletics (participating in varsity tennis all four years). She is a leader on the team and in the classroom. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Damijah Carter is an IB course candidate who is best known for his involvement in student council and the marketing program at Chandler. As a Student Council member, he was elected as the state AASC State President, through which he helped organize state-wide events for Student Council students across Arizona. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: The positive energy Emily Castle brings to all she does is infectious. Emily has both a kind spirit and a mental toughness. She has pushed herself academically, taking a full complement of rigorous honors, International Baccalaureate, and Advanced Placement courses. She zestfully embraces learning, even when the material is difficult for her. Emily is an avid softball player. She was named Pitcher of the Year in both 2017 and 2018. Other accolades she has received include Second Team All-Region in 2017, all CUSD team in 2017, and Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Adrian Chandler has faced many obstacles and adversities in his work for equity and equality. He is co-president of the Youth Equity Stewardship Club where he strives to ensure equity and inclusion for all students, regardless of race, religion, cultural background, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status or nationality, providing them with challenging and equitable learning experiences on Chandler High Campus. He was also the captain of the basketball team the last two years. Participating in these leadership roles has made him resilient and more self-confident within his own skin, making him and others around him better people. He has achieved a 4.31 GPA and will continue his education at Arizona State University studying journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Ruth Chavez has served in a leadership role on Student Council all four years at Chandler and is currently 12th grade Student Body President. She is a vibrant young woman with boundless energy. She is active in the Chandler Buddies program as well as the National Spanish Honors Society. Ruth is honored to be the first in her immediate or extended family to attend university, where she plans to major in psychology. She will be attending ASU and her goal is to combine her love for helping others with her passion for art, pursuing a career as an Art Therapist. Chandler High Seniors Highlights
Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Kameron Dawson will be attending MIT in the fall. While at Chandler High he has been an active member of Student Council, serving as Treasurer for three years and as well as the Student Body Business Manager his senior year. He is also a member of the Marketing program's DECA club where he was elected as Vice-President of Career Development. Kameron was involved in developing spirit weeks, sporting events, and club meetings and through the Honors Academic Decathlon class developed a public speaking workshop to help peers strive to be their best.
