The mission of Chandler Buddies is to creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

 

Here at CHS we have had a lot of success building and maintaining relationships between students with intellectual disabilities and their non-disabled peers. It is a great opportunity for students to develop the social skills they will need to become productive citizens and helps to build social confidence. Students are paired using questionnaires and by attending "matching" parties. After that it is up to the students both disabled and non-disabled to keep up the friendship. The club gets together for activities once a month as a whole. Some activities we have had in the past are picnics, game nights, movie nights, and Holiday parties.
