My Education and Professional Background
Over the last 32 years, I have been associated with the United States Air Force in one way or another-- be it enlisted on Active Duty, in the Reserves, in the Arizona Air National Guard based in Tucson, or as an officer back on Active Duty. A career aircraft maintainer, I retired in June 2023 after 9 assignments that took me from the U.S. to Europe to Asia. I also spent a year deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan as an Air Advisor.
I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Arizona as well as my commission into the Air Force. Later, I earned an MBA through Texas A&M. Additionally, I spent 3 years teaching a junior officer leadership course in Alabama where I earned the Air Force's "Master Instructor" badge.
My Educational Philosophy
My philosophy is based on students experiencing and growing through real-world issues in a safe environment. To accomplish that, we have our cadets run the corps in everything from PT to logistics to group command. I want them to experience the challenges of leadership, decision-making, and teamwork first-hand as they plan and execute events, run clubs, and earn promotions into positions of ever-increasing responsibility--all under the guidance and mentorship of the instructors.
