Cum Laude Recognition Program
All CUSD high schools now use the Cum Laude Recognition Program. It replaced the concept of designating a valedictorian and salutatorian at graduation. This recognition program is used to acknowledge the most academically successful students at graduation. The designation and the weighted GPA will be calculated at the end of the 7th semester. The categories for distinction under the Cum Laude Recognition Program are as follows:
Summa Cum Laude — "with the highest praise." To qualify a student must achieve a 4.5 — 5.0 GPA.
Magna Cum Laude — meaning "with great praise." To qualify a student must achieve a 4.25 — 4.49 GPA.
Cum Laude — meaning "with praise." To qualify a student must achieve a 3.75 — 4.24 GPA.
National Honor Society
Senior class students who are members of National Honor Society will receive their regalia from Mrs. Menger, National Honor Society sponsor.
