Sophomore Ethan Adam led the way with rounds of 70 and 68 (138 total) to finish 1st place individually. Ethan birded five of the last six holes for the win! Senior Ryan Sanchez came in 2nd place with 72 and 69 (141 total) and all of our players finished in the top 15. Hamilton Football decided to honor our POW/MIAs by establishing a Seat of Honor at home football games, displayed at each home game by AFJROTC cadets. The empty chair symbolizes the fact that our POW/MIAs cannot be with us to share our experiences, but we will save a seat for them when they are able to return. Hamilton selected Alief Taylor High in the hardest hit areas of the Gulf Coast as many of the faculty and students lost their homes and became displaced as a result of Hurricane Harvey. The school opened its doors to the community as a result of storm and became a shelter, a food pantry, and place to dispatch emergency services. Several students showed their chickens, and Mathew Schmidt's rooster sold at auction for $250. Students did fantastic at the showmanship portion of the fair, which included how to handle chickens to demonstrating in-depth knowledge about chickens.
