Arizona Earn to Learn (AZEL)
Arizona Earn to Learn (AZEL)
A collaboration of the Arizona Board of Regents, the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University to help limited-income Arizonans to save for college.

The target audience for AZEL is future college students and their families with annual incomes less than 200% above the federal poverty level (FPL). AZEL will provide matched-savings incentives through special savings accounts, known as Individual Development Accounts (IDAs), for students who wish to pursue postsecondary education. Participants who successfully complete the IDA savings program requirements will receive an 8 to 1 match on their savings (save $500, receive $4,000 match) for tuition costs at AU, ASU or NAU. The maximum match that a student can receive through the program is $4,000.

AZEL provides students and families with financial education, financial coaching, and assistance in setting up and sticking with a matched-savings, IDA account that can be used to help pay for college.

Private students loans are used by over one million students each year. Why? Well, the rising costs of higher education has made it difficult for students and families to afford college. Scholarships, grants, and federal student loans are all great ways to help meet your cost of attendance.
