Welcome! I am so excited to be a math teacher for Casteel High School. I look forward to working with you! This is my 12th year teaching and my 3rd year at Casteel.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Iowa State University in 2011 with majors in Math and Spanish for Secondary Education. I have a Masters in Education in Advanced Studies with a major in Math and focus in Instructional Leadership from American College of Education. I moved to Arizona in 2012 and started teaching at Florence High School for two years. I taught at Higley High School for one year before teaching at Highland High School 6 years. I have taught a variety of math subjects including Regular and Honors Algebra 1, Regular and Honors Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and College Algebra. I have coached diving the last 8 years for Highland and coached swimming for two years at Florence. I also coach diving for Basha High School. This will be my 3rd year there.
This will be my third year at Casteel and I will be teaching Honors Pre-Calculus, Pre-Calculus, and Algebra 2 this year.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all students can succeed through perseverance and determination. I am here to help students through their educational career. I believe in an environment that allows all learners to succeed. I take pride in teaching my students how to learn, take notes, how to study, and ultimately become a better math student.
