|"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand."|
|-- Albert Einstein|
I am thrilled to be teaching biology at Casteel High. Although I have taught other science classes before, biology is my favorite. I am hoping it will become a favorite among my students as well.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education in Biological Sciences from ASU. I am certified to teach high school biology and general science for grades 6-12 in Arizona. I am also endorsed for middle grade science and Structured English Immersion. I have experience in teaching high school science such as biology, physics, and Investigative Science.
My Educational Philosophy
Science is not only a body of knowledge but a way of thinking. My main goal is to instill curiosity in my students. Curiosity is that which initiates investigation. We will explore science through group activities which will promote reasoning and teamwork. Students will also develop their communication skills by explaining their findings through presentations and written assignments. These valuable lessons will help provide the students with the basic skills essential to their future successes.
