    My Education and Professional Background

    2022-2023 SyllabusI have a masters in Art History and in Education with a certificate in English.

    I have taught at both the high school and college level for 14+ years. 

    I first started teaching at Casteel in 2017 and have been here ever since. Since starting here, I have taught all grades from 9-12 but have taught only 11 and 12 for the last 5 years, which I have found to be my preferred grade levels.

    This year will be my first year as the ELA Department Chair and I"m looking forward to working with teachers and staff, as well as all the amazing AP Lang and Comp students that I will come to know. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe the classroom is the best place to learn because it is here that students are not only afforded the opportunity to learn from amazing teachers but, most importantly, from each other. An open mind can take you anywhere!
