    Good Morning Casteel Colts!

    Here are today’s announcements for Wednesday Sept. 19th, 2018:

    • Up and Coming photos are here!  If you paid for a photo at the dance they will be arriving in your 1st period teachers class.  1st period teachers please look out for these pictures in your box and distribute to the students who paid for them.  Please come to see Mr. Nedow in A35 if you have not paid or want additional prints.

    • The Casteel Cheer teams are sponsoring "Short Stacks for a Tall Cause" Flap Jack Fund Raiser at Applebee's on Sat Sept 22, from 8-10am.  Tickets are just $8 and include all you can eat pancakes and the beverage of your choice.  See any Cheerleader, Coach Romo in C13 or Coach Wilson in Science Lab 8 for tickets.  Get yours before they sell out!!!

    • Keep forgetting to charge your phone at night? Well you won't have to worry anymore, because Casteel Orchestras will be selling customized portable chargers before an after school Tuesday - Friday, or until we run out. Chargers are $12, and all profits will help send the orchestras to California for festival.

    • Congratulations to the Varsity Women’s Volleyball team who brought home me a win against Gilbert last night!  They beat Gilbert 3 sets to 1 in their first conference match!  Come out and cheer them on tonight as they take on Higley. Freshman game at 4pm, JV at 5pm and Varsity at 6pm.  Great job ladies!!!!

    • Planning to try out for a 2nd Quarter or Winter Season sport?  YOU NEED TO BE CLEARED THROUGH THE ATHLETIC OFFICE!  If you have already been cleared this year, you must still see Mrs. Pugh in the Athletic Office to ensure that the coach receives your Golden Ticket.  Tryouts for Junior High 2nd Quarter Sports (Softball, Boys’ Basketball, Cross Country) begin the day we return from break – Wednesday, October 17th.  Make sure you are cleared BEFORE Fall Break.  Tryouts for High School Winter Season Sports (Men/Women’s Basketball, Men/Women’s Soccer, Wrestling) begin Monday, October 29th.   All forms can be found on the Casteel website!  Don’t miss any tryout time because you weren’t cleared!

    • Colts Cross Country competed in Ojo Rojo on Saturday and was led by strong performances from Tanner Golightly, DJ Colbourne, and Riley Davis - wish all XC runners luck as they compete again on Thursday (tomorrow!)

    • Junior High Cross Country will have their informational meeting Thursday during conference period in A25 with Coach Woods and Coach Frechette - time to get your physicals and pay your fee, or just come and get more information about the upcoming season and defending the EVC championship

    Here are today’s announcements for Tuesday Sept. 18th, 2018:


    • 7th grade baseball defeated Cooley 19-1 and 8th grade defeated Newell Barney 10-0 in round 1 of the EVC baseball playoffs. 
    Next games, 7th at home Wednesday at 4pm 8th grade at TBD 4pm

    • This year for the first time students are able to vote for which teacher they want to appear as the teacher role in the spring musical. Want to see your favorite teacher as a 1950s icon?! Then get out there and vote!! Our seven nominees are Mr. Phillips, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Woods, Mr. Hastings, Mr. Kalscheur, Mr. Mitchell, and Mr. Chumley. Vote for your favorite by donating money in their jars, located in the bookstore or their classrooms. The teacher who raises the most money wins the coveted spot. May the best man win!

    • Congratulations to Cross Country after an amazing meet in California
    Derek Baca and Dayton Carlson placed 1st and 2nd overall in their race to lead the men to team victory, followed closely by Daniel Kirkland, Kyle Shirley and Graham Farnsworth and there were medals and PRs all around.  The ladies were led by Jadyn Heron-Jonap and Cassidy Cann to their strongest ever finish, followed by Sydney Elliot, Melia Hecht, and Holly Deem.

    • Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Swim and Dive for their win against Poston Butte on Thursday! Tommy Wright on the Dive team took over the team record at the meet. His score of 183.50 is the new record.Brecken Scroggin won her 3rd dual meet in a row.

    • "Join Academic Decathlon on the 18th at the Panda Express on Riggs and McQueen. 20% of all proceeds will go towards Casteel Academic Decathlon. Be sure to give them a flyer at check out! Flyers can be found in the front office or in Mr. Kerby's room A45."
