My Education and Professional Background
I received my BA in English from Georgia Southern University. After moving from Georgia to Arizona in December 2009 I pursued my lifelong career choice in teaching. I received my teaching certification through Rio Salado College in 2012. I have been teaching since 2012, all at the middle school level, and I absolutely love it.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that a great classroom is one where the students are working harder than the teacher. This means that the teacher is okay with allowing her students to take risks and being responsible for making their decisions about their own learning. I also believe that kids should express enjoyment in their learning. When a kid is enjoying the material being taught, interest levels peak and actual learning occurs.
