Welcome!
Hello 7th and 8th graders! Welcome to Casteel! I teach Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) and Study Skills. We will explore cooking, sewing, child development and personal finance in my FACS class. In Study Skills, we will focus on organization, preparation, work completion and work support. I am very excited to be a Casteel Colt and look forward to the coming school year!
I am also the E-Sports coach for our high school E-Sports team. I am excited for the spring season! My Education and Professional Background
Although this is my first year at Casteel, I have taught for 3 years and have worked in education for over 10 years. I was born in Ohio and moved to Arizona when I was 3 years old. I grew up in Chandler and attended Arizona State University. I earned my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies and my Masters in Special Education. I am certified in Career and Technical Education in Family and Consumer Sciences, Elementary Education and Special Education. I also hold an endorsement in Structured English Immersion. I absolutely love teaching and the field of education!
My Educational Philosophy
My educational philosophy is simple. Students need an engaging atmosphere that allows them to learn and grow socially and academically. All students are unique in their learning styles and background knowledge. Utilizing student's unique differences ensure a well rounded, engaging and enjoyable learning adventure.
