  • ASU Fulton Summer Academy

    Through participation in Fulton Summer Academy, students grades 1-12 get the opportunity to experience life on campus and take part in instructor-led engineering design challenges and activities. Our camps utilize best practices in hands-on STEM to actively engage participants and empower them to seek out other STEM opportunities beyond their experience at ASU. We offer a variety of programs – from half day camps, full day camps, and overnight camps – there is something for everyone.

  • ASU National Summer Transportation Institute

    Are you an Arizona high school student interested in learning more about engineers and the ways in which they impact our world and society? The Summer Transportation Institute will engage you in projects and field trips that demonstrate how all types of engineers (from aerospace to software) plan and maintain our systems of transportation around the state of Arizona. Spend four nights and five days living on the Arizona State University Polytechnic campus and learn how all types of engineers (from aerospace to software) plan and maintain our systems of transportation around the state. This program is funded by the National Summer Transportation Institute and is FREE of charge to participants.

    The Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Institute is a high-energy leadership program for Arizona high school sophomores and juniors. While living on the ASU campus, participants will explore higher education, develop leadership skills, and discover the value of community service.

    The goals of this one-of-a-kind experience are to foster academic and personal success, embrace diversity, and reinforce the value and importance of community service and civic engagement – all within a collaborative peer environment.

  • Helios Scholars at TGen - Paid Internship

    Helios Scholars at TGen is a paid, eight-week summer internship program in biomedical research open to incoming and continuing undergraduate, graduate, and medical school students who have studied at an Arizona high school, college, or university. Interns work full-time on a research project under the mentorship of a TGen scientist to unravel the genetic components of diabetes, neurological disease and cancer. At TGen North in Flagstaff, interns focus their summer research on public health and pathogens such as Valley Fever and antibiotic resistant bacteria.

  • Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation

     

    Engineering Innovation is an exciting college-level summer program for motivated high school students with an aptitude in math and science and an interest in (or curiosity about) engineering. Students learn to think and problem-solve like engineers and have the opportunity to earn Johns Hopkins University (JHU) credit.

    Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation is primarily a commuter program and currently runs at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.  Residential programs are offered at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and Hood College in Frederick, MD.

  • NAU Upward Bound Summer Academy

    Upward Bound conducts an annual four-week Academy (five weeks for Year 3) on the Northern Arizona University campus. The Academy provides an educationally, enriching, residential program, which introduces students from our four target high schools to the university environment while preparing them  academically for institutions of higher learning. The major goal of the Academy is to enable students to successfully live in two worlds: their own, with its rich cultural heritage, and the other world of college life.

    As with the rest of our program, the Academy emphasizes academics. Applicants who are selected must be committed to completing the full four-week program. Students who successfully complete the program with a C or better will earn one unit of high school elective credit which can be used at their respective high schools toward graduation requirements. Year 3 students will be enrolled in Coconino Community College and receive college credit.

  • U.S. Military Academy: West Point Summer Leaders Experience - High School

     

    Summer Leaders Experience (SLE) is highly competitive since there are normally 6,000 applicants and capacity for just 1,000 attendees. SLE gives high school juniors a week to experience life as a cadet to inform their college selection decision. SLE is a fast-paced program of academic classes, military training, physical fitness training, and intramural athletics conducted during the first half of June each year.  You must have standardized test scores to be considered for SLE.

    This unique middle school program offers students currently in 6th and 7th grade the opportunity to participate in hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities taught by Academy faculty and cadet mentors.

    Leadership Seminars is a competitive, 10-day program on Notre Dame's campus for academically talented students who show impressive leadership within their communities. Approximately 90 students are admitted to Leadership Seminars each year, and students are eligible to receive one college credit upon completion of the program. Expenses for students admitted to Leadership Seminars—including transportation to and from Notre Dame—will be paid for by the University.
