    Mindfulness is the practice of being fully aware of yourself and your surroundings in the present moment and without judgment.

    Benefits of practicing mindfulness include:

    • stress reduction and healthy stress management

    • reductions in overthinking/rumination
    • increase attention span
    • decrease in emotional reactivity and impulsive behavior
    • healthy relationship skills such as empathy, listening, and self-awareness

    Mindfulness strategies are helpful for people in just about every circumstance and walk of life. Casteel High School has a beautiful Mindfulness Room that helps create an environment where students can learn and practice simple mindfulness strategies.
